COSTA MESA, California, Mar. 4, 2025—BenQ, a global leader in display solutions, will offer over-the-air (OTA) Android upgrades to all Google-certified EDLA BenQ Boards later this year to enhance the user experience. The updates will also enable BenQ Board owners to receive ongoing Google Android and Enterprise Devices Licensing Agreement (EDLA) security patches for long-term protection and improved performance.

The following BenQ Boards are eligible for the upgrade:

• BenQ Board Pro RP04: Android 13 to Android 15
• BenQ Board Master RM04: Android 13 to Android 14
• BenQ Board Essential RE04/RE04F/RE04FV: Android 13 to Android 14

The BenQ Board Pro will be BenQ’s first interactive display to support Android 15, setting a new benchmark for OS capabilities. This upgrade will optimize CPU and memory usage, improve app performance and startup times, and introduce kernel updates for greater efficiency and security.

Additionally, teachers and students using Android 14 and 15 will have seamless access to Google’s Gemini AI overlay, allowing them to ask questions about on-screen content or generate images instantly—making lessons more interactive and engaging.

BenQ Boards are renowned for their software update support for solutions including EZWrite 6 and InstaShare 2, and security updates, effectively extending the lifespan of these interactive displays. IT admins and users can easily upgrade their BenQ Boards with the Android OTA firmware update on the board or through DMS as soon as it’s available—no fees, subscriptions, or extra services required.
