Steam Deck is a powerful handheld that doubles as a portable console and streaming device. With its strong hardware and fast internet, PS5 gamers can enjoy Remote Play anywhere, making PlayStation gaming more flexible than ever.

There is no official method to set up PS Remote Play on the Steam Deck, so you’ll need to rely on third-party applications. One of the best options is chiaki-ng (previously named chiaki4deck), a powerful tool that allows you to stream and play your PS5 games in Gaming Mode.

Go to Steam Deck desktop mode > [Discover Store] >Search “chiaki-ng” > Install

Click “Yes” > Rename your chiaki-ng in your preferred way (or keep the initial name) > Click [Create]

Before connecting the two devices, please make sure that your PS5 and Steam Deck are connecting to the same network.

Now you should be able to see your PS5 on the list, double tap and get into the register process.

To retrieve your PSN-Account ID, click [Public Look Up], enter your PSN Username, and submit. Your Base64-encoded Account ID will then be displayed.

Now turn on your PS5, go to Settings > System > Remote Play, and enable Remote Play to allow streaming to your Steam Deck.

Go back to the previous settings page, click [Pair Device], and copy the code (valid for 5 minutes).

Return to chiaki-ng on your Steam Deck, enter the Remote Play PIN you just copied, and proceed with the setup.

Click [Register], and you should see a confirmation that your console is registered successfully.
